Alternative Trans-Canada Highway Routes
There are several alternatives to the main Trans-Canada Highway route. We'd love to include all of these branches of the highway in our project, but we just can't fit them in this year. You can help us, though - we've marked maps for the branches so that you can contribute your views of the country to the project. We'll take a look at all of your paintings and include them on the Contributors page and in our gallery exhibitions in digital form. Details about contributing art to the project will be coming soon....
A note on the mileage
To keep the alternate route mileage organized, we measured 150 km segments from east to west from the last stop to the east on the main route. For example, the Québec route branches off at Montréal, between Km 2400 and Km 2550. All stops on this segment are labeled with MVK (Montreal-Val d'Or-Kenogami): Km2550 MVK, Km2700 MVK, etc.
